CS05: 3 Day High Risk Confined Space Entrant & Entry Controller Course - Open Course
Purpose of the course
This three day classroom and practical based course is designed to provide 21 hours of classroom and practical instruction with assessment to introduce delegates to the requirements of the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L101 - Safe work in confined spaces (Confined Spaces Regulations 1997) and the principles laid down in the National Occupational Standards for Working in high risk confined spaces.
On completion of the course, delegates will have the requisite knowledge to enter or control entry into high risk confined spaces where access into the space may have a non-standard entry and which, in consequence, makes rescue difficult. It is likely that a hazard will be present at some time during the entry and the entry may involve complex procedures with work-specific controls and rescue arrangements in place. It may entail the use of escape and/or self-contained open circuit breathing apparatus, specialist detection equipment, and resuscitation equipment. It will require the presence of personnel who have designated responsibilities for dealing with emergencies.
