HS04: 1 Day Occasional Climber Course - Open Course

This 1 day Occasional Climber classroom and practical based course is designed to provide 7 hours of classroom and practical instruction with assessment so that delegates understand the hierarchy of working at height controls and can identify potential risks and hazards associated with accessing fixed structures up to 12m whilst remaining within the safety of the structure using either temporary or permanently installed safety devices in accordance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

On completion of the course, delegates should be able to identify what risks may be present when accessing and working on fixed structures, ensure suitable control measures are in place, select and use appropriate equipment to allow safe access and egress and have adequate emergency arrangements in place prior to any work being carried out.

Multiple-choice test paper
Chapter 7, Safety Rule Book (where applicable)

Practical
Set up site (drop zone)
Pre-use checks of equipment & structure
Correct & safe use of Double Lanyard & Work Positioning
Correct & safe use of Fall Arrest System & Fall Arrest Block
Correct & safe use of Work Restraint System
Basic lifting and lowering of kit

One day (09:00-17:00)

6 delegates maximum per course

Morsafe Limited E-certificate (valid for 3 years)

Delegates must have a good command of the English language

Delegates will require confirmation of medical fitness or complete a self-certification statement

Delegates will require footwear and clothing to suit the course and weather conditions

Climbing equipment will be provided
